Becoming Radically Generous

“All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need.” (Acts 2:44-45, NIV)

No one sacrificed like the early church. Acts 2:44-45 says, “All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need.” (NIV) The early church didn’t just give their money. They were generous with everything they had. You could say they were radically generous.

What would happen through our churches if we were just as radically generous? The Bible says that we’re stewards —or managers—of all that God has given us. We’re responsible to use our resources in a way that impacts the Kingdom.

God has given you resources in this world, not just for your own enjoyment, but to make a difference in the world around you. God never blesses us just to sit on what we have. He blesses us so we can bless others.

Talk about it –

  •  How would your life change if you were radically generous? What would that look like?
  •  If you’re struggling to be radically generous, what do you think makes you hesitant to give more?
