Want to Stop Worrying?
By Rick Warren

Why be like the pagans who are so deeply concerned about these things? Your heavenly Father already knows all your needs, and he will give you all you need from day to day if you live for him and make the Kingdom of God your primary concern. (Matthew 6:32-33 NLT)
For a believer, worry is a signal of a deeper issue. Worry says that Jesus isn’t in first place in your life.
Our priorities are out of whack when we worry. God wired us to make him number one in our lives. Anytime something else takes that top spot, our worry level will climb.
If you put your career in first place, you’ll worry about it because you don’t want to lose it. If you put a relationship in first place, you’ll worry about that too. You’ll fear losing the relationship.
Our relationship with God can’t be taken away from us. It’s permanent. When we put Him on the top of our list, we don’t have to worry about Him being taken away someday. Therefore, we have nothing to worry about.
The Bible says, “Why be like the pagans who are so deeply concerned about these things? Your heavenly Father already knows all your needs, and he will give you all you need from day to day if you live for him and make the Kingdom of God your primary concern” (Matthew 6:32-33 NLT).
Want to stop worrying? Make God and His Kingdom the priority of your life. Live for Him alone. That’s always the starting point to getting over worry.
How will knowing this change the way you live today?
